I can’t believe it’s already been over a year since I joined Future PLC as a Frontend Developer. Time really does fly when you’re doing work you enjoy and are surrounded by great people.
Looking back, I feel incredibly lucky to have landed somewhere that just felt right from day one. The recruitment process was quick, simple, and respectful—no unnecessary stress, no endless waiting. When I officially joined, the onboarding process was smooth and well thought out. I was supported, seen, and set up for success right from the beginning.
Something that’s meant a lot to me on a personal level is how open, diverse, and inclusive the team is. Moving to a new country can be overwhelming, but being surrounded by people who are kind, curious, and open-minded made all the difference. I never felt like an outsider—quite the opposite. I felt welcomed, like I belonged here. And that feeling has only grown stronger over time.
The people I work with every day have made this past year so special. Everyone is incredibly talented, but more importantly, everyone’s just…genuinely nice. There’s a strong sense of collaboration, and no ego. Whether it's sharing knowledge, helping each other out, or just having a chat, there's always a sense of support and mutual respect.
I also really want to give a shoutout to the people in leadership positions—my managers and leads have been approachable, down-to-earth, and consistently supportive. They check in, they listen, and they care. That kind of leadership is rare, and I don’t take it for granted.
One of the biggest game-changers for me has been working remotely. Having that kind of flexibility has made a huge difference in my day-to-day life. It’s allowed me to create a healthy balance, stay focused, and best part is.. you get to be with your pet all day. I’ve never felt micromanaged or boxed in—just trusted to do my work well and given the space to grow.
Every day, I get to work on projects that challenge me, in a role that keeps evolving, with people who inspire me. There’s always something new to learn, and that’s one of the things I love most. I’ve grown a lot in this past year, and I know there’s so much more to come.
So here’s to a year filled with growth, connection, and purpose. I’m proud of how far I’ve come, and I’m so thankful to be part of Future PLC. I’m really looking forward to everything that’s still ahead.
