Almost everyone in the PHP ecosystem uses Guzzle, so in this talk we’ll deep dive into using its underutilised middleware for efficient API monitoring.
We’ll dive into recording telemetry data using OpenTelemetry, observing it through Grafana with the help of Loki, Tempo and Prometheus. Drawing from our experience at Future building an application that makes millions of API calls each week, you’ll leave with actionable insights to keep your microservices and third-party APIs stable under pressure.

This is a talk I presented at the PHP UK conference in February 2025.

I'm a developer with a deep passion for building intuitive, scalable, and user-centric digital products with PHP. When I'm working on something, I put my energy and leadership expertise into the things I care about most; the product, the user experience, the developer experience, and sharing knowledge.
